Following tradition of previous years, the last vets game before the Christmas break is the Annual Redsox Vets Derby. Redsox Black ran out winners although the score was irrelevant as last night's game was played in the usual great Redsox spirit, with Redsox and Softball being the true winners.

U13s Group2 Grand Final Redsox vs Thornlie Hawks (Maroon)
It was a pretty even game all the way through and with Redsox leadimg by 2 runs, the 3rd out occurred in the bottom of the 3rd innings with 12 minutes of scheduled time left. The umpire declared a 4th innings would be played . With a max number of digs per pitcher limited to 3 in U13s, both teams had to call upon their 2nd string pitchers. Hawks went into bat needimg two runs to make Redsox bat again. They scored 4 setting Redsox a target of 3 to win.
Not to be denied their moment of glory, Redsox held their metal and scored the 3 runs to clinch the title.
