Please note registration consists of two elements. 1) A completed registration form and 2) An initial payment.

Senior & Junior Registration for Winter 2022

In line with modern practice, Redsox's preferred method of registration is online via this website (see link to online forms below). If you are unable to register online, please email the registrar at stredsox_registrar@iinet.net.au and a manual form will be return-emailed to you, which can be printed, filled out and returned to the Registrar. Payments can be made online (see details below) .
Redsox's Player Registrations for DDMSA comps will close at midnight on the relevant day after which Redsox Selection Committee will formulate teams. Do not delay! Acceptance of registration and placement within desired team will not be guaranteed lodgement is after cutoff dates..

Notes

1

An initial player's deposit ($20) is required upon registration,with 50% playing fees paid before 1st playing date and all remaining balance before 3rd playing date.

Various discounts apply for Junior-aged players playing seniors eg U18s, Apprentices, etc.. Refer Treasurer.

Club Membership fee is annual, not seasonal and is additional to Playing Fees

DDMSA Senior game time is normally 1.30pm or 3.30pm Saturdays, with occasional spillover to 6.30pm or 8.15pm Friday nights.

DDMSA Junior and Sub Junior game time is normally 9.00am or 11.00am Saturday

Volunteers Required

As with all amateur sports clubs, volunteers are needed to make it all happen both on and off the field of play. With this in mind, expressions of interest are sought to fulfil the following positions for the coming Winter 2022 season

NB. Acceptance by the South Thornlie Redsox of any Registration is conditional upon the player's and/or parent/guardian's acceptance of the following:

Junior/Sub Junior Registration (info for players & parents)

I/We agree that I am/We are willing and able to participate in the activities of the South Thornlie Redsox Softball Club (Club) including those conducted by the association to which it is affiliated.  Such activities include, softball games, training sessions, game day duties, gala days and fundraising activities wherever they may occur.  I agree:

1.      To provide as proof of age for Junior players, a birth certificate or passport upon request.
2.      All required fees will be paid prior to the commencement of the playing season.  Any fees not paid or an approved agreement not held with the treasurer of the committee, may result in the player not being eligible to play in Club or affiliated association events.
3.      To return, upon request, any uniform or equipment loaned by the Club in as good a condition as it was issued allowing for fair wear and tear.
4.      To reimburse the Club for the cost of replacement or repair any uniform or equipment which is lost or damaged.
5.      To allow the Club to distribute my information contained on the registration form to the Club and affiliated associations (DDMSA and SEMSA etc) as deemed necessary.
6.      I am aware that playing, observing and training in Softball are activities that inherently involve risk, and that in undertaking these activities myself or my child does so at my/their own risk.
7.      I am also aware that as a condition of my or my child’s membership of the Club, its office bearers, officials, coaches, managers, umpires, members are absolved from all liability arising from injury or damage howsoever caused  That injury or damage may arise out of membership of the Club, playing, observing and training.
8.      To permit the Club or its proxy to obtain medical care from any qualified person should the need arise. I am aware I will be liable for any expenses incurred as a result of treatment. Neither South Thornlie Redsox or its parent association carry any insurance in this regard.
9.      That I will make every effort to ensure that my behaviour and that of my associates when attending games and Club events meets the ideals of good sportsmanship and does not bring the game or Club into disrepute.
10.  I have read and agree to abide by the association and club by-laws, policies, rules and codes of conduct.
11.  I understand and accept that South Thornlie Redsox Softball Club is a not for profit, community based organisation run and facilitated by volunteers.  Each member or parent/guardian is required to contribute to the running of the club in the form of game day duties as allocated by the team manager.  
12.  I agree to participate in Club fundraising activities as and when required.
13.  I understand that as part of my membership, insurance is not provided by affiliated associations and that it is my responsibility to arrange adequate insurance cover according to my needs.
14.  I understand that as part of the promotional and communication activities of the Club there may be photographs taken of myself, my child or other family members engaged in activities organised by the Club for use on the Club’s website or in other media and I consent to these photographs being published provided that full names are not included without express permission.
15.  An adult directly responsible for any child player (junior) under the age of 18 will be present at training and games.
16.  I understand that if I withdraw my registration prior to the first game I will be required to forfeit $20 of my registration fee and if I have played a game with South Thornlie Redsox, I will not be entitled to any refund of my fee.
17.  I acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and equipment during all events and activities.
18. It is a policy of the STRSC to prohibit discrimination amongst its members.

Senior Registration (info for players)

I agree that I am willing and able to participate in the activities of the South Thornlie Redsox Softball Club including those conducted by the association to which it is affiliated.  Such activities include, softball games, training sessions, game day duties, gala days and fundraising activities wherever they may occur.  I agree to the Club Expectations of Members listed below.
            (a)  Abide by and support all STRSC Bylaws & policies.
            (b)  Support the elected President. Committee & appointed Coaches in the performance of their duties.
            (c)   Promote STRSC through Club loyalty. equal consideration & integrity to all fellow Members (including Juniors), supporters, opposition teams and umpires.
            (d)   Give maximum support to all social & fund raising activities of the Club.
            (e)   Attendance & exercising of voting rights for election of office bearers at the AGM of the Club.
            (f)   To pay all membership & uniform fees at or before the required times as determined by the Club Bylaws :­    
(1) Membership on registration.
(2) Registration fees one (1) week prior to season commencement.
(3) Uniform deposit with order - remainder on supply of uniform.
            (g)  Be responsible for the care of STRSC and other members' equipment.
            (h)  Attend regular training sessions set by Coaches.
            (i)   To promote and maintain a high on and off field etiquette standard.
            (j)   Meet commitments of team duties as rostered by Coaches i.e. umpiring, bar & canteen. NOTE : any fines to be paid by rostered player.
            (k)  Any queries should be directed initially to Coach but failing satisfaction, may be in writing through any Committee member.
            (l)   Support other Redsox games where ever possible to enhance Club spirit.
            (m) It is a policy of the STRSC to prohibit discrimination amongst its members.
